Diego Costa and Alexis Sanchez are joint-top of the Premier League scoring chart, but where are they ranked in the Golden shoe race across Europe?

The Golden Shoe is given to the player who scores more goals than anyone else playing in Europe’s other leagues. The top ranking UEFA championships – Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese and English – have their goals multiplied by two, while everyone else in the top nine, as it stands, have theirs multiplied by 1.5.

Premier League joint-top scorers Alexis Sanchez and Diego Costa both scored their 15th goal in the weekend to join other European prolific strikers as they chase Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the race for the European Golden Shoe.

Cristiano Ronaldo has four Golden Shoes, but is lagging behind this season, the Portuguese has scored 12 goals, which is the same as Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe.

After another eventful weekend in different leagues across Europe, here are the top 10 so far in the race for the award this term.
