Manchester United‘s long term target, Gonçalo Guedes, has bid his goodbyes to his club teammates and fans of Benfica after agreeing a January move away, According to reports from Portugal newspaper, Record.
The Portuguese winger has been strongly tipped to make a £26million move to Old Trafford during the current window.
And those rumours went into overdrive when he was left out of Benfica’s Primeira Liga game with Tondela on Sunday.
The 20-year – old watched the match from a VIP box and there were reports that he used the opportunity to his goodbyes to team-mates and staff.
The British media are reporting that the Portugal international has agreed to a January move, and he is believed to have held talks with United officials.
What the Manager Had To Say About Guedes?
After Watching his side win 4-0, Rui Vitória, the Benfica manager,said:
‘‘The coach is here to make decisions. I decided this was not the game Gonçalo Guedes to play in. I have to make choices, there are more players at Benfica and I chose to play them. End of story,”
‘‘Guedes didn’t play because I choose to pick other players. I have no indication that he will leave.’’
Guedes joined the Eagles’ youth team in 2005 and made his debut for the B side in 2014.
